Greetings Chapter 14!
(Published in the Newsletter APRIL-MAY 2022) Are y’all as ready for Spring as I am? If March’s luncheon was any indication, then I think y’all are too! On March 17th, we had the pleasure of hosting our General Body Meeting in person at Lib’s Grill in Fulton, MD. Our guest speaker was Travis Carter, Construction Analyst from FEMA. He gave us an insider’s view of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Also, he informed us that FEMA has plenty of job openings that our members might be interested in. For more information, feel free to reach out to him directly! If you haven’t already, please take a good look at our brand new website, www.IRWAchapter14.com. Tiara McCray and Betty Vandermause led the effort to design and publish our website, which now has the capability to accept electronic payment for luncheons and other Chapter initiatives. Thanks to your hard work, our members and prospective members will be able to learn all about the IRWA, our Chapter history, and ways they can get involved. Mark your calendars! Our next Executive Board meeting is tentatively scheduled for Thursday April 21st, and, as always, this meeting is open to all members. The next General Body Meeting Luncheon is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, May 19th at Café Mezzanotte in Severna Park, MD. We have a Chapter election coming up and we need all hands on deck! Please review the slate of officers and cast your vote electronically on Thursday, April 28th. Further instructions will be forthcoming, but feel free to reach out if you have any questions. The Regional Spring Forum, hosted by Chapter 9, in Peddler’s Village, PA is fast approaching. The forum will take place April 21st and 22nd. Our International Education Conference will be June 5th - 8th in Cleveland, Ohio. For more information on both of these events, please see our website. Last but certainly not least, I’d like to extend a thank you to Brenda Fuller. Brenda recently earned a promotion to Purple Line Director of Real Estate for the Maryland Transit Administration. As a result of her new role and accompanying duties, she had to step down from her role as Vice President of our Chapter. Brenda, thank you for your years of leadership and dedication! Your positive attitude and willingness to serve will be missed, but I’m sure will still see you at Chapter events. Keep soaring! |
