IRWA Chapter 14 is officially in the running to bring the 2030 IRWA International Education Conference home to the Washington, D.C.–Maryland–Virginia (DMV) region, and we are proud to be among the four finalists for this prestigious global event. Hosting the conference in our nation’s capital region would spotlight the depth of right of way expertise across Chapter 14, showcase our world-class multimodal infrastructure, and provide visiting professionals with unparalleled access to federal agencies, regional partners, and historic landmarks.
Why the DMV for 2030
The DMV is uniquely positioned to host an international conference focused on land rights, infrastructure, and right of way because it is home to federal transportation, energy, and environmental agencies, as well as many national consulting, legal, and appraisal firms. Chapter 14’s footprint across Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia reflects a long history of delivering complex transportation, utility, and public works projects, making our region a living classroom for IRWA’s global community.
Our Path to the Final Four
Securing a place among the four conference bid finalists is a major milestone that recognizes Chapter 14’s track record of strong leadership, active membership, and consistent support of IRWA at the chapter, region, and international levels. This achievement builds on years of participation in prior International Education Conferences, regional forums, and credentialing efforts that have raised our visibility within the Association.
Campaigning in Omaha
The next critical step in our journey will unfold at the upcoming IRWA International Education Conference in Omaha, Nebraska, where Chapter 14 will actively campaign for the 2030 selection. Omaha will be our stage to showcase the DMV’s strengths, share our vision for a dynamic, accessible, and inclusive conference, and connect with chapters and leaders from around the world to build broad support for our bid.
All Hands on Deck
Winning the 2030 conference for the DMV will require full engagement from Chapter 14’s membership—every voice, connection, and idea will matter. Our Chapter President is preparing a bold, creative campaign that will distinguish Chapter 14’s bid, leveraging our location, professional depth, and hospitality to leave a lasting impression in Omaha and throughout the selection process.
