Chapter 14 is officially in the running to host the 2030 IRWA International Education Conference, proudly representing the Washington, D.C.–Maryland–Virginia (DMV) region as one of four finalists for this prestigious global event. Bringing the conference to the nation’s capital would highlight the exceptional depth of right of way expertise within our chapter while offering attendees a dynamic blend of professional insight, historic significance, and unmatched access to key federal and regional partners.
Why the DMV for 2030
The DMV region stands apart as an ideal host for a conference centered on land rights, infrastructure, and right of way. As home to major federal agencies in transportation, energy, and environmental sectors—alongside leading consulting, legal, and appraisal firms—our region operates at the forefront of policy and project delivery. Chapter 14’s footprint across Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia reflects decades of experience managing complex transportation, utility, and public works initiatives. For IRWA’s global community, the DMV offers not just a destination, but a real-world learning environment.
Reaching the Final Four
Earning a place among the final four conference contenders is a significant achievement and a testament to Chapter 14’s leadership, active membership, and consistent contributions at every level of IRWA. This milestone reflects years of engagement through international conferences, regional collaboration, and professional development efforts that have strengthened our presence and reputation within the organization.
Taking the Campaign to Omaha
The next phase of this journey takes us to Omaha, Nebraska, where Chapter 14 will actively campaign during the upcoming IRWA International Education Conference. This is our opportunity to present a compelling vision for 2030—one that emphasizes accessibility, innovation, and inclusivity—while building meaningful connections with chapters and leaders from across the globe. Omaha will serve as the platform to showcase everything the DMV has to offer.
All Hands on Deck
Securing the 2030 conference will require the collective energy and support of our entire chapter. Every conversation, connection, and contribution will help strengthen our bid. Under the leadership of our Chapter President, a bold and creative campaign is underway—one designed to leave a lasting impression and set Chapter 14 apart. And in true Chapter 14 spirit, you may even spot a familiar face channeling Abraham Lincoln to capture attention and bring a touch of memorable flair to our efforts.
